Creative Operations Manager
Keep creative projects moving from intake to delivery, covering a maternity leave.
The role
We're looking for a Creative Operations Manager to cover our Creative Operations lead during a maternity leave. In this role you'll own the day-to-day tactical execution of creative projects across a range of channels, keeping work moving from intake through delivery. You'll work closely with creative team members, freelancers, and project requestors to keep every project scoped, resourced, and on schedule. This role takes sharp attention to detail and the kind of problem-solving that turns any curveball into a manageable next step. You're proactive, organized, and steady under pressure, and you keep the team moving even when timelines get tight. Beyond traditional project management, you'll help scale the creative organization by tightening workflows, improving visibility across projects, and bringing automation and AI-powered tools into how the team works. The ideal candidate pairs operational rigor with genuine curiosity about emerging technology, has partnered closely with designers, writers, video producers, and marketers, and knows how to balance business priorities with creative excellence.
What you'll do
- Resourcing and trafficking. Own resource allocation across active tasks and projects using the team's capacity tracker. Manage the project kanban board and the daily team task list so work stays on schedule.
- Project scoping. Partner with requestors early to align on goals, constraints, and what success looks like. Translate requests into clear, actionable deliverables, and review briefs before kickoff to confirm scope, timing, and resourcing line up.
- Timelines. Build and maintain project timelines from kickoff through final delivery, and keep deliverable trackers current so status is visible to every stakeholder.
- Operations and infrastructure. Manage the internal creative share drive, develop estimates for incoming requests, track and reconcile creative budgets monthly, and grow the freelancer network so resourcing can scale.
What you'll bring
- 6+ years as a program manager or senior producer working with a creative team, in a creative or marketing agency environment.
- Knowledge of creative and production processes across design, copywriting, video, and digital content, and the ability to anticipate operational needs.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, including turning complex project requirements into clear, actionable plans.
- Comfort prioritizing competing needs and keeping projects moving without losing sight of quality.
- Hands-on experience applying AI and automation in creative contexts (content generation, workflow automation, performance tracking). Claude experience a plus.
- Skill at earning trust with creatives in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
- Comfort working remotely and across timezones.
- Experience managing freelancer relationships and budgets is a strong plus.
- A degree in business, communications, marketing, project management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
The details
- Contract. September 7, 2026 to February 26, 2027.
- Hours. 32 hours a week, W2.
- Rate. $75 an hour.
- Location. Remote.
